Recently, waste water treatment technologies have evolved to offer alternatives to conventional technologies enabling us to manage this waste in difficult environments and to give better treatment results.

In the province of Quebec, alternative technologies have been tested and approved (BNQ). The Regulation respecting waste water disposal systems for isolated dwellings , Q-2.-22, describes how to legally install these technologies and the municipalities are responsible for its application.
